A double celebration has taken place adjacent to the M62 in Burtonwood between Construction and Transport company, Carefoot and Scania Dealer, Haydock Commercial Vehicles.

Carefoot have been appointed as principal contractor to design & build the new Commercial Vehicle Maintenance facility at Omega Park near Warrington. The 1.3 hectare site will host a new cutting-edge HGV Service Centre with vehicle servicing/repair facilities & MOT bays at ground floor, with associated offices and ancillary facilities spread over the three floors. The external areas will have secure parking for 70 HGV Tractor Units with additional space for complete tractor and trailer units.

As with tradition the Turf Cutting took place onsite with Haydock Commercial Vehicles Principal, Simon Dykes cutting the first sod under the supervision of Carefoot’s Managing Director, Colin Carefoot.

The event was made all the more significant as it coincided with the first test run for Carefoot Transport Company’s new Scania R450, 15 of which will join the Carefoot fleet over the next few months.

Speaking at the event, Carefoot Managing Director, Colin Carefoot said “Transport and Construction is what Carefoot’s are about, we know we can build a flagship facility for Scania here… …It’s great to continue our long relationship with Haydock Commercials both as a customer and now as a Contractor”.

Simon Dykes, Dealer Principal at Haydock Commercial Vehicles commented, “This development represents one of the most exciting developments in the long and successful history of Haydock Commercial Vehicles.  ‘Customer first’ has always been our mantra, and we are now looking forward to delivering the area’s transport operators with a commercial vehicle facility that is truly second-to-none.”

The project is due to start next month and will be handed over to Haydock Commercial Vehicles for operation early in 2018.
